And the sacred tree’s canopy extended to sustain the luminous paths of the heavens, where one day the sun and the moon would dance, delineating the sacred space with imperishable leaves. 

 

 On the board, the players can see the different symbolic motifs that make up the textile:

 
  • Pejel / lush tree

    The exterior section is composed of the repetition of the motif known as “pejel,” representing the four corners of the universe, woven with threads of the colors that correspond to each cardinal direction.

  • The sun and the moon

    The paths of the sun and moon, that chase each other and interweave, can be found in blue and yellow.

  • Pine needle

    In red and yellow, the interior space is outlined by representations of pine leaves that symbolize the sacred and ritual space.
